PAMP 2.5 gram bar dimensions: two published sizes and how to check yours
Two dimensions are published for PAMP 2.5g gold bars: 19 × 11.5 mm and 22.1 × 13.1 mm. See what we can verify and how to check the bar you have.
If a holder, bezel or frame sold for a PAMP 2.5 gram gold bar does not fit your bar, the problem may be dimensional rather than a fault in the holder.
Two different sets of dimensions appear in published sources: 19 × 11.5 × 0.6 mm, and 22.1 × 13.1 × 0.46 mm.
The larger is 3.1 mm longer and 1.6 mm wider than the smaller. That is large enough to change whether a close-fitting holder works, which is the only thing about it that matters here.
These two figures do not carry the same weight of evidence, and the difference between them is the useful part of this page.

The PAMP figure inherits the caveat set out in our gold bar dimensions guide. PAMP’s specification table renders in the browser rather than in the page source, so we could not re-read it at this check; the SKU and figures above come from an earlier reading of that page.
On the dealer sources
At least three bullion dealers in three countries currently publish the larger figure, each naming the product as PAMP Fortuna alongside the dimensions. Describe them as three publishers, not three independent sources. We have not established whether the figure was derived separately by each or propagated from a common origin, and given how dimensional data circulates in this market, propagation is the more likely of the two. Three listings agreeing is weaker evidence than it looks.
PAMP publishes the smaller format directly for the product it currently sells. The larger format appears only in secondary sources, and we have not located a PAMP document that explains its relationship to the current product.
That asymmetry is worth stating plainly rather than presenting the two as equal alternatives. One is the refiner’s current published specification. The other is a specification published by several dealers, for which we have not located a corresponding PAMP source.
What the asymmetry does not establish is which bar is in your hand. Dealers publishing the larger figure are selling bars, and a specification that a refiner no longer publishes is not thereby absent from the market.
How to check the bar you have
Measure it. The two formats differ by more than 3 mm on the long side, which is legible with any millimetre ruler. Calipers are better but not required to tell these two apart.
Out of the card: measure the metal across the longest side.
Sealed in its CertiPAMP card: measure through the blister. Thickness will read high, because the blister adds material on both faces — PAMP also describes the packaging as protected by a removable film, which adds more. Length and width are still readable well enough to separate 19 mm from 22.1 mm.

That last row catches people. The 22.1 × 13.1 mm footprint appears in published specifications for both a 2.5g bar at 0.46 mm and the PAMP 5g at 0.9 mm. Same face, roughly double the thickness. Face dimensions alone will not tell you the weight.
Do not rely on weight alone. PAMP currently publishes its Lady Fortuna 2.5g at 19 × 11.5 × 0.6 mm, while a larger 2.5g format also appears in dealer specifications. Where fit matters, verify the dimensions of the particular bar in front of you.
What we are not claiming
Two sets of dimensions are published. That is what the evidence supports and it is where we stop.
We are not claiming PAMP changed the size on a particular date. We found no announcement, changelog, dated specification or distributor bulletin establishing when, or whether, the Lady Fortuna 2.5g moved between formats.
We are not using generation labels. The two formats are described elsewhere as “old” and “new”, or assigned production years. We have not found evidence supporting those labels. The larger format may reflect an earlier production run, a different product family, a regional variant, or a specification some dealers have not revised. We do not know which.
We are not claiming the larger format is discontinued. It appears in live dealer listings. Bullion stock turns over slowly, and the absence of a figure from a refiner’s current page does not establish what is or is not available to buy.

Why more than one format can be in the market
Physical gold bars can remain in dealer inventories and private collections for many years. As a result, products that are no longer represented by a manufacturer’s current specification can remain in circulation.
Whether that explains the two PAMP 2.5g figures discussed here, we have not established.
Before buying a holder
- Measure your bar first - not the product name, not the listing, not what a previous holder was sized for.
- Give the seller the measurement rather than the product name - “PAMP 2.5g” is ambiguous between these two formats. “22.1 × 13.1 mm” is not.
- Ask which dimensions the product is designed around - if the seller cannot provide them, you do not have enough information to confirm fit.
- Check the return terms - particularly for made-to-size items.
- Decide whether the bar stays in its card - a holder sized for the sealed CertiPAMP card is a different product from one sized for the bare bar, and the two sets of dimensions are unrelated. If you are taking the bar out, there are resale considerations worth reading first.

Is the larger 2.5g format the same size as a PAMP 5g bar?
The published face dimensions are the same, 22.1 × 13.1 mm. The published thicknesses differ, 0.46 mm against 0.9 mm. If you are unsure which you have, read the weight stamped on the bar.
Does the size difference affect the bar’s gold value?
Not its gold content: both formats are published as containing 2.5g of 999.9 fine gold. We have not established whether format, production generation, packaging or collectability affects dealer or private-market premiums, and we would not assume they do not.
Which format is currently in production?
PAMP currently publishes the smaller format for the Lady Fortuna 2.5g. We have not found a source establishing what else may be in production or in distribution.
About this data
PAMP publishes its Lady Fortuna 2.5g bar (SKU ZAUFS00074) with a size of 11.5 x 19 mm and a thickness of 0.6 mm, on a reading we could not repeat at this check. Bullion dealers independently repeat these figures, generally reassembled as 19 × 11.5 × 0.6 mm. The 22.1 × 13.1 × 0.46 mm figure is published by multiple bullion dealers; we have not located a primary PAMP source for it.
PAMP states that the Lady Fortuna motif was introduced in 1979. A design in continuous production for over four decades may well have been struck to more than one specification in that time, but we treat that as context rather than evidence, and it does not establish anything about the two figures above.
Methodology note. As a secondary check, we compared each published specification against the volume 2.5g of gold occupies. The 19 × 11.5 × 0.6 mm figure produces a bounding-box volume close to that expected for 2.5g of fine gold, and the 22.1 × 13.1 × 0.46 mm figure does the same. This does not establish manufacturing tolerances, production history, or the origin of either figure. It makes the larger specification less likely to be a simple dimensional typo, and that is the extent of what it shows.
